I'm trying something new. The Monthly Painting Challenge posts a photo reference image once a month, and we do our thing and create a painting from the image. Though I've been following the blog since, well, January, this is the first posting I will make, and hopefully not the last.

You did a really nice job with this difficult challenge. We had similar crops, although I like the square version of yours much better. Nice work with the shadows too!
Thanks, Nancie! That was a tough image. It got crazier when I started to paint it, but it all came together in the end. I liked seeing all the works!
